NCHBA STARS Awards
Zar Custom Homes, from Charlotte, was awarded the STARS award for the category “Best Single Family Detached Home” with a sales price over $1 million between 5,000 and 10,000 square feet. Zar Custom Homes is a member of the Lake Norman Home Builders Association and the Charlotte Home Builders Association and builds in the Charlotte Metropolitan area in both NC and SC.
LNHBA Best of the Lake
Zar Custom Homes has won Best of the Lake and Best in Show for Custom Homes several times. The most recent example was a beautiful modern home on Lake Wylie. This spectacular home was built on the lot of the former home of George Shinn (former owner of the Charlotte Hornets).
The prior home on this site had been struck by lightning and then completely demolished. One of the few things that remained was the swimming pool, boasting a custom ceramic tiled Hugo the Hornet. The homeowner had the foresight to keep Hugo, so in the complete reconstruction of the pool, we worked around Hugo, keeping him completely intact.
Energy Star Partner
Zar Custom Homes has completed the required training to become an Energy Star Partner. The partnership represents our commitment to energy savings through the use of energy-efficient products in the construction of our homes.

Performance speaks to a business’ track record of delivering results in accordance with BBB standards and/or addressing customer concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner.
Zar Custom Homes has been a BBB accredited business since 2008 with an A+ rating.
NAHB Member
Builders are the heart and soul of NAHB (National Association of Home Builders). Builder members are directly involved in building homes. They include small-volume builders, production builders, light commercial builders and remodelers.
